KOTA BAHARU: Several non-governmental organisations in Kelantan are travelling around the state to disseminate information on the shortcomings of the PAS government in the administration of the state for more than 20 years, according to the Kelantan People’s Action Council (MTRK).

Its president, Azmi Ali, said the awareness programme would continue up to the next general election and was aimed at dispelling the people’s perception of and obsession with the PAS leadership allegedly using the guise of ‘ulama’ (scholars).

He alleged that the shortcomings included the failure to resolve the water issue, housing for the poor, unemployment and the issue of land sold to non-bumiputeras and outsiders.

“So far, we have held 41 peaceful gatherings throughout the state, and we will hold a huge gathering of more than 10,000 people,” he told reporters after addressing a peaceful gathering organised by the MTRK with the collaboration of Perkasa, the Malay right wing group, here yesterday.

Almost 4,000 people attended the gathering at the compound of the State Mara Office.

Several of the participants carried banners calling for a change of government and citing examples of the failure of the PAS government in fulfilling promises. — Bernama
