KOTA KINABALU: A 17-year-old youth was sentenced to six months’ jail by the Children’s Court yesterday for being in possession of stolen items.
The accused was arrested by police in a room at an unnumbered house in Kampung Tanjung Aru on September 29, 2010.
He was convicted under Section 411 of the Penal Code which is punishable by a maximum jail of five years, and a fine, upon conviction.
He admitted before Magistrate Herlina Muse to have in his possession two stolen items, a iPhone 3GS smartphone and an iPad.
Prosecuting officer Azaman Hamat prosecuted.
