Royal Brunei Land Force celelebrates family day

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Team Kura Kura or Turtle outpaced the rest of the tam in the Biathlon competition yesterday at the Royal Brunei Land Force’s family day held in conjunction with the Royal Brunei Land Force’s 51st anniversary, Borneo Bulletin reported.

Participants of the Biathlon had to complete two disciplines namely 45km cycling and 12km run. The individual competition was open to all personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) while the team event was only open to personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force.

Team Kura Kura comprising of the commander of Royal Brunei Land Force Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Yussof bin Hj Abd Rahman and his partner 12881 LKPL Hj Busu, finished the race with the time of two hours and 37 minutes.

Second place went to Nyi PM Nyi who completed the gruesome race in two hours and 39 minutes, while third place went to Gym Bra B with the time of two hours and 40 minutes.

The individual event was won by 13912 SJN Md Norisman. Second place went to 18351 KPL Abd Mu’min and third place went to 19411 SLD Muhd Ussowdeq.

The competition received encouraging response from the Royal Brunei Land Force personnel and their family members. Special thanks was also conveyed to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) for the support rendered in providing escort and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic during the competition.

The guest of honour ; Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Yussof bin Hj Abd Rahman, the Commander of Royal Brunei Land Force also handed the prizes to the winners.

Apart from the biathlon, there were also flying fox and games for the families of the military personnel.
