SIBU: A suspect in the killing of a 30-year-old mechanic last Monday was yesterday ordered by a Magistrates’ Court to be remanded for four days.
The suspect, Wong Bing Huat @ Tian Pa Huat, 40, turned himself in at the central police station here Wednesday afternoon.
The police are, meanwhile, hunting for another suspect, Yong Ngie Ung, 35, who is nicknamed Lao San.
Mechanic Hii Teck Luk was killed when he was allegedly set upon by four men outside a pub at Lane 7E, Pahlawan Road about 1am.
He succumbed to two stab wounds at 8am at Sibu Hospital.
Earlier press reports said the two suspects in the case had previously been detained under the Emergency Ordinance for committing violent and extortion cases.
Wong had been placed under restricted residence in Kelantan.
