Unrealistic policies detrimental to country — Keningau Umno Youth

KENINGAU, Sabah: The Keningau Umno Youth yesterday cautioned that any attempt to reform the federal government’s policies would be detrimental to the future of the people and country.

Its chief Azman Ruslan, said such an attempt could lead to inconsistencies and disorganisation in the country’s administration.

“Hence, the Barisan Nasional (BN) government’s policies, which are more conducive, inclusive and progressive, need to be upheld to ensure economical and political stability and unity among the people of different races in the country,” he told Bernama here yesterday.

Azman was commenting on propaganda, fanned particularly by the opposition, that Sabah had nothing to lose should the state government leadership change hands after the general election.

“Actually, the people of Sabah stand to lose tremendously if the progressive policies being implemented by the Barisan Nasional government are shelved,” he stressed.

On the other hand, the opposition, by their attitude and action, failed to provide a precise direction as to how they could govern the country better than the BN, he said.

“It’s hard to evaluate the credibility of the opposition because their leaders are mostly veterans who lack political dynamism,” he added. — Bernama
