KUCHING: State BN Youth chief Datuk Fadilah Yusuf hopes the spirit of unity shown by the late Temenggong Datuk Kanang Langkau and his comrades will be practised by today’s generation.
“Race and religions took a back seat in the fight for peace and freedom,” said Fadillah who paid his last respects to Kanang at the morgue of Sarawak General Hospital yesterday.
Fadillah who is also Petra Jaya MP said Kanang was more than a fighter who lives by the Iban war cry of ‘Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban’ which should be used by today’s generation to face life’s obstacles.
“The war cry is not only for battles but relevant in the fight to ensure our country moves forward and remain independent,” Fadillah said.
