SIBU: Folk of Kampung Kebuaw, Matu were advised to tap into sago production as it holds bright prospects.

“With SCORE coming up, folks should tap into its vast opportunities as a sago producing area to elevate their economy,” Jemoreng assemblyman Abu Seman Jahwie said at a recent Christmas gathering at a village there.

The assemblyman celebrated Christmas joy with some 500 villagers of Kampung Kebuaw – a Melanau-Christian area about one hour’s boat ride from Igan.

He said the people should appreciate the peace, stability and prosperity of Malaysia which enable festivities to be celebrated.

In contrast, people in war-torn countries could not celebrate any festivity as they were living in fear.

Abu Seman also called on the folks there to give priority to their children’s education.
