MIRI: The Women’s wing of Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) would continue with its health campaign in an effort to create greater awareness among the people on the importance of health.

Its training and development assistant secretary and chairperson, Florince Christy, said this was their annual activity headed by their chief Chiew Yen Chew.

“We have prepared the schedule and this year, the programme will be carried out in Baram and Saratok,” she said when contacted by The Borneo Post yesterday.

During the campaign, activities such as free health talks and health screenings will be held.

Besides this, the Women’s wing has also arranged for a visit to an old folk’s home in Kuching. They will be doing housekeeping as well as contributing donations to the residents there as a gesture of care and concern.

“Other activities will be an entrepreneur training for our members and an educational farm trip to Sarawak Biodiversity Centre,” Florince said.

On another matter, Florince pledged that they would strive to do better this year to serve the people better and bring the wing to a greater height, to progress and develop in tandem with other Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties in the state.

“That’s our resolution for the new year”.

For this, she sought the support and cooperation from the members to make it possible.

To a question on the coming polls, Florince who is SPDP Sadong Jaya chairwoman expressed confidence in winning and retaining all the four seats in the parliamentary constituencies in the coming 13th general election.

“This is our priority and main goal besides other agenda,” she concluded.
