Apek wants to help Kelantan defend treble successes

KOTA BAHARU: Kelantan goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat vows to turn 2013 into his best year by helping the Red Warrior defend its treble successes last season.

Khairul Fahmi, who is more popularly known as Apik, said other than endeavouring to defend the three championship titles, he was also determined to wrest back the national number one goalkeeper title this year.

“I realise it is not an easy task. However, I will work hard by giving my best performance in each match to realise both.

“I also vow to help Harimau Malaya qualify for the final of the Asia Cup which is expected to start in February,” he told reporters during his wedding reception yesterday.

The wedding was also attended by Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and Kelantan Football Association president Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

On Dec 28, Khairul Fahmi ended his bachelorhood by marrying the girl of his choice, model and entrepreneur, Nur Eilunie Natasha Jaafar, 21, or Leuniey. — Bernama
