PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, in emphasising the direction for the civil servants for this year, wants them to ensure that the 2013 Budget is implemented efficiently and smoothly by focusing on the national transformation agenda which had given an impact and satisfaction to the people.
The Prime Minister said that in line with the budget (themed ‘Prospering the Nation, Ensuring Wellbeing of the People: Promise Fulfilled’) he wanted continuity in improving the government delivery system and the civil servants to give emphasis on the implementation of the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS).
The Prime Minister said it was important for all civil servants to give emphasis on the directives towards making 2013 as the most outstanding year in the history of the country.
Solidarity and national resilience must be strengthened based on the 1Malaysia concept so that everyone from all strata of society could feel that the present government was actually led by a fair, equitable and inclusive government, he said at the first monthly gathering of the Prime Minister’s Department this year.
He said continuous economic growth demanded good management in order to ensure that the national wealth was distributed to all the people based on social justice.
“In this manner we can ensure that the national wealth was not concentrated among a certain level or area only, but must be enjoyed by the majority of the people,” he said in his monthly gathering at the Dataran Perdana, here yesterday morning.
Najib also called on the civil servants to work hard to ensure that the 2013 Budget was implemented smoothly and effectively according to schedule, besides focusing on the national transformation agenda because according to him, the agenda had proven to be successful and had given satisfaction to the people besides contributing to the national economic growth.
He also touched on the National Blue Ocean Strategy agenda that required the cooperation of the various departments in implementing certain projects in an integrated manner which must be carried out fully.
In addition, the Prime Minister said he also wanted to see that civil servants at all levels of the ministry achieved fully the targeted KPI besides maintaining continuity in improving the government delivery system.
“..as civil servants, we continue the efforts to achieve improvements based on the three aspects which I had mentioned previously, namely, providing quick and accurate services
with integrity; creative and innovative thinking; and giving emphasis on productivity,” he said.
“Many new initiatives will be introduced this year, including the ‘education blue print’ which will be tabled finally that will give a big impact on the future and development of the country’s human capital,” he added. — Bernama
