TUARAN: Election is secondary. But Sabah leaders must never stop working to serve the people.

A wise advice from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman yesterday when asked on the Sabah Barisan Nasional’s preparation for the coming 13th general election.

“There is no ‘full stop’ for us, as far as working is concerned. We have been elected by the people, entrusted to fulfill our promises and meet their demands. We must make sure that the people get fair protection … those are our responsibilities as leaders.

“We, in BN, will continue to work hard, election or no election,” he told reporters after the launching of the Sabah Sepak Takraw Association (ASTAKA) President Cup Championship here.

He said it was vital for leaders to go down to the ground and work with the people to solve problems affecting their constituents.

“We must work closely with the district officers, community leaders and the people in our respective areas and learn what are the people’s problems and grouses. At the same time, we create a harmonious environment as everyone helps one another.

“We have executed our work right after the last election until today, and we do not intend to stop now. And the people know that we are doing our best to meet their demands,” he said.

Musa also thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for his concern and willingness to listen to the people.

“He has approved huge allocations to develop Sabah. And I believe the people realise that the BN government has been working hard for them,” he said.
