Cautious crocs despite two wins

KUCHING: Both Sarawak and KL S.P.A Putrajaya FC might have to bank on their respective “Guys” for their clash today. Cameroonian midfielder Guy Bwele marshalls the Crocs’ midfield while his compatriot Guy Feutchine does the same at the other end.

Bwele has been a revelation for Sarawak since he was signed by the Crocs in 2011. For this season he has already got his name on the score sheet last Friday.

It will be business as usual for the hard working midfielder today.

Sarawak cannot consider KL S.P.A Putrajaya FC as pushovers at the Stadium Hang Tuah in Melaka today.

The newly-promoted side might seem like minnows to some but their impressive performances in pre-season friendlies and league matches so far suggest otherwise.

Taking note of SPA’s 4-2 win against Perlis last Friday, it is no surprise that Sarawak head coach Robert Alberts has called for his team to be extra careful.

“Their win against Perlis surprised everyone. Nevertheless, as we all know, this is football and anything can happen,” he added.

Ramesh Lai Ban Huat is expected to return after serving a one match suspension.

With right back Dzulazlan Ibrahim still injured, Ramesh’s versatility is crucial as the Crocs need to tighten up their back four.

In the attacking department, Bobby Gonzales and Ivan Babic are likely to start as the pair looks to improve their mutual understanding and striking combination.

“Babic is improving but what is more important is that he and Bobby can create equal chances for each other,” said Alberts. Today’s match between Sarawak and KL S.P.A Putrajaya FC starts at 4.45pm.
