KUCHING: A man was slapped with a good behaviour bond in the sum of RM1,000 for assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.
The accused pleaded guilty before Magistrate Maris Agan.
The offence came under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The accused inflicted injuries on the woman by punching her face, eyes and ears.
He also nudged her on the stomach even though she was pregnant.
The offence was committed while both were walking under the Satok overhead bridge around 12pm on Jan 6 this year.
The victim also claimed that a similar incident happened a few times and that the boyfriend would act aggressively whenever on drugs.
