Coach demands more consistency from misfiring Crocs after 1-1 draw in Melaka

KUCHING: Sarawak coach Robert Alberts made clear that the Crocs have to be more clinical in their finishing if they are serious about seeking promotion to the Malaysia Super League (MSL) next season.

His prediction of a tough encounter against KL SPA Putrajaya FC was proven true when the Crocs were held to a 1-1 draw at Stadium Hang Tuah, Melaka last Monday.

KL SPA had snatched the lead through Mohd Hanifuddin before Bobby Gonzales equalised just before the interval.

Sarawak appeared to be the better side but thanks mainly to a fine defensive display.

The Crocs created many chances in the match but Alberts was disappointed at the inability to convert those chances to goals.

“I think we could have won big against SPA Putrajaya but we didn’t.

“ I am not happy with the draw,” he said.

Alberts ruled out fatigue as a possible cause for the disappointing performance as the opposing team had also played the same number of matches.

Lamenting the loss of two points after bringing home only one, Alberts is looking for more consistency from the Crocs in the coming matches.

Sarawak will next face KL Pos Malaysia FC at home this Friday.
