Najib attends briefings from BN divisions in Selangor

SHAH ALAM: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has begun to listen to briefings from every Barisan Nasional (BN) divisions in Selangor regarding preparations and work programmes to be carried out by the party machinery in the run up to the 13th general election.

Selangor BN coordinator Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed said a closed-door meeting was held recently involving five BN divisions namely Ampang, Pandan, Hulu Langat, Serdang and Puchong.

He said a similar meeting would be held very soon involving the Gombak, Selayang, Subang, Kelana Jaya and Petaling Jaya Selatan divisions.

“The briefings were given by the top leader of the respective divisions which delved on preparations that were being made to face the coming general election,” he said at a media conference, here yesterday.

Mohd Zin said Najib, as the Selangor BN chairman, also issued instructions and pointed out action to be taken to further strengthen preparations made by the party machinery to face the general election.

He said that among other things, the Prime Minister stressed the need to ensure unity and solidarity within the party were maintained in efforts to form a solid front to ensure victory for BN in the state.

“The PM (Prime Minister) also said that if there were internal disputes, they must be resolved by everyone in the interest of the party,” he said.

Mohd Zin said the Selangor BN was also in the process of preparing the final draft of the state BN manifesto for the coming general election based on the concept of pledges to be fulfilled if it were to wrest Selangor from the opposition pact. — Bernama
