KOTA KINABALU: An 11-year-old student fainted after being allegedly kicked in the ribs by his school’s headmaster in Labuan.

The headmaster immediately sent the student Mohd Izzuddin Zainuddin for treatment but allegedly told others to say that the boy was injured in a fall during a game.

Izzuddin’s mother Roslaila Jimlin, 35, who has lodged a police report, said she and her husband rushed to Labuan from Kota Kinabalu after receiving a call from Izzuddin’s friends about the incident on Thursday evening.

“I found out the headmaster had kicked my son after a teacher told him (headmaster) that Izzuddin and his friends had punctured her (teacher) car tyre,” she said.

She said it was later found that the teacher’s vehicle was not damaged, nor was its tyre punctured as claimed.

Izzuddin and his friends were only sitting near the teacher’s car while resting after a marching rehearsal to prepare for the coming Maulidur Rasul celebration.

The headmaster denied the allegation, saying the boy had passed out due to fear, and not due to being kicked.

Meanwhile, Labuan police chief Supt Adzhar Othman said police are looking into the case and will call the teacher and headmaster involved to record their statements soon.
