KUALA LUMPUR: Senate president Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang yesterday received a courtesy call from the Romanian Ambassador to Malaysia, Constantin Volodea Nistor, at his office at Parliament House, here.

It was the first visit by Nistor since he became the ambassador here in October last year.

During the approximately one hour meeting, Abu Zahar said they exchanged views on the economy, and social and
political issues besides bilateral matters concerning both countries.

“The visit was to boost bilateral ties between both countries which had been established 45 years ago,” he said.

Also present at the meeting were senate deputy president, Senator Datuk Doris Sophia Brodi, secretary of the Dewan Negara, Datuk Zamani Sulaiman and Malaysian Parliament administration head, Datuk Lamien Sawiyo. — Bernama
