MIRI: The Village Safety and Development Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Katong Loteng will be holding a nine-a-side football tournament.
Teams will compete for the Dato Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew trophy.
The organising spokesman Lee Jong Soon said the tournament will take place from Feb 9 to 17 and then resume on Feb 23 and 24.
The event will be held at Miri City Council football field and the closing date for teams to register is Feb 4.
Lee said the tournament will have two categories namely Open Category and Veteran Category. The registration fee is RM200 per team. Participation is open to Malaysians and non-Malaysians with valid identification or travel documents.
Each team in the veteran category can register not more than four players who have represented Sarawak or their division.
The champion, first runner-up and second runner-up will take home RM1,000, RM700 and RM500 respectively in addition to trophies and medals.
