Ukrainian women held for suspected prostitution

KOTA KINABALU: Police have arrested two Ukrainian women tourists for alleged involvement in prostitution.

City police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun said the women, aged 24 and 27, were arrested during a raid on a hotel at Jalan Pantai here on Monday, January 21, at 4.20pm.

“Police also confiscated a couple of condoms during the raid and the women have been taken to the police station for further investigation,” he told a press conference at the city police headquarters in Karamunsing here yesterday.

According to Jauteh, police investigation showed the women entered the state capital as tourists on January 18.

Police also believe the women charged their clients about RM500 per session, he said, adding that the case would be investigated under Section 372B of the Penal Code.
