KUCHING: A 12-year-old boy who pleaded guilty to possessing stolen items (two gold necklaces) will know his fate when the court passes judgment on March 21.

The case is pending his probation report.

A Magistrates’ Court here yesterday deferred the delivery of judgment as the accused person is a juvenile offender.

The boy pleaded guilty to keeping two gold necklaces worth RM1,000 reported stolen from a house in a village near Siburan at 6.15pm on Nov 22 last year.

The brief fact of the case stated that the complainant found out his house was broken into upon returning home from his brother’s house.

He said the house was in a mess and the jewellery kept in the bedroom was missing.

Upon receiving a tip off from members of the public, the police arrested a suspect the same day.

Retaining stolen property which comes under Section 411 of the Penal Code provides a maximum penalty of seven years’ jail and a fine upon conviction.
