KUCHING: Choice Bazaria will celebrate the grand opening of its sixth outlet located at Matang 6 ½ mile on January 26, to mark its feat in expanding its presence in the area.
Choice Bazaria, the latest addition to Choice Group of Supermarkets operated by Mahsuri Ria Sdn Bhd (Mahsuri Ria), is looking into leveraging on the rapidly growing population in the Matang area.
During an interview with The Borneo Post, executive director of Mahsuri Ria, Dr Allan Hon said, “This is the sixth outlet under Choice Group of Supermarkets and we actually started operating this branch a few months back, in June of last year.”
He further added that the purpose of the opening of its sixth outlet located about 2.5 kilometres away from its nearest outlet, Choice Ria, was to make it more convenient for the residents living further within the vicinity of Matang area.
Similar to its previous outlets, Choice Bazaria retained its concept of selling a combination of cold storage products and fresh or perishable products.
Dr Hon further commented, “Like any of our other branches, we are trying to cater to the people in the area. We’ve also added a range of household and departmental products.”
Choice Bazaria branch manager, Shenton Chai explained, “Initially, we started with four shop lots. From our customers’ feedbacks, we found that our product range wasn’t enough.
“So, in December, we extended to five shop lots to bring in more products to fulfil our customers’ needs. With a wider products range, their shopping experience will be more complete as everything will be in one place.”
To commemorate the grand opening of the sixth outlet, Choice Bazaria will offer promotions on most of its products.
Choice Bazaria will also offer product samplings as well as door gifts for its customers and patrons on the day of its grand opening.
Looking ahead, Dr Hon revealed, “We are planning to run more promotional events for our Choice Plus Reward members. We would like to offer special prices as well as redemptions for household items and also product discounts for our members.”
He highlighted several benefits of becoming a member of Choice Bazaria which included product discounts and collection of points which could be translated to gift redemptions as well as cash discount on purchases.
To become a member, customers could apply directly through the cashier. The card issuance has a one-off payment of RM10 and currently, Choice Bazaria offers life-time memberships through continuous usage.
