CAREER-FOCUSED LEARNING: Inti’s graduates have consistently proven they are assets to any organisation.

KUCHING: With a 96 per cent graduate employment rate within six months of graduation, it’s obvious that Inti’s innovation-driven, global-oriented and career-focused learning experience has enabled students to shine and convince top employers like Public Bank, HSBC, IBM and KPMG that they are assets to any organisation.

This year, Inti will be participating in the fourth edition of The Borneo Post International Education Fair (BPIEF) to be held from March 9-10 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) where Inti representatives will be available to assist visitors with questions regarding their courses.

Over the last year, Inti students have undertaken 125 innovative projects with industry partners to help Inti students build up their competencies and learn new skills.

Real employer projects ranging from ‘Ways of doing business and how to setup a company in Myanmar’ to ‘Food waste management’ for a leading hotel were introduced in the classroom to help students develop problem-solving, collaboration, communication and critical-thinking skills. Such projects are an inspiring component of higher education and are expected to play an increasingly important role in teaching and learning for years to come.

“We offer a blended learning approach incorporating online support, industry projects, interactive business simulations and mentorship by industry partners and distinguished academics – all based on the learner’s personal development programme for personal effectiveness. As part of the Laureate International Universities network, Inti has access to the global resources, best practices, teaching methods, international faculty and management tools that are truly world class,” said Inti’s vice president of Employer Relations Jeyasothy Palakrishna.

Students are also trained to develop soft skills that lead to strong leadership ability, confidence and the ability to analyse and strategise, in addition to being decisive and resourceful. Through industry-run workshops and forums that include employer career coaching sessions as well as interview, resume and grooming skills workshops students will be guided towards a rewarding and fulfilling career.

Inti’s signature event for innovative learning is the Business Leadership Series (BLS), which has seen prominent corporate leaders like Google Malaysia’s Sajith Sivanandan, Media Prima’s Ahmad Izham Omar, Dell’s Bobbi Dangerfield, Microsoft Malaysia’s Ananth Lazarus, Frost & Sullivan’s Manoj Menon, IBM’s Ramanathan Sathiamutty and many others speaking to Inti students on the latest trends and developments in business and career opportunities on a global scale.

“We have had accomplished and charismatic leaders such as Eva Au, Managing Director of IDC Asia/Pacific, and Joel Neoh, Founder and CEO of Groupon Malaysia inspiring students by sharing their experiences and visions with them. These presenters were dynamic in their own ways; what they had in common was a passion for what they do at work and at play – and they conveyed this very well to the audience who were truly inspired,” said Jeyasothy.

Inti’s students enjoy the ‘Laureate advantage’ which makes a world of difference in helping them realise their full potential. Being a part of the global Laureate International Universities network, they have access to knowledge, thought processes, best practices, academic talent and resources like no others.

Laureate’s support also provides students with access to cutting-edge global events such as the World Business Forum and Clinton Global Initiative, where they can learn from top global leaders discussing issues affecting the world today. This provides an international learning experience beyond Malaysia as part of their studies and as part of their world class education at local prices.

Students of Inti benefit not only from the institution’s over 25 years of experience and strong track-record, but also gain from the global synergy and resources that Laureate International Universities provides. Laureate has a presence in 29 countries, with more than 60 accredited universities and 130 campuses, serving more than 740,000 students globally.
