Microsoft offers Windows 8 discounts after launching for 88 days

Microsoft is offering discounts for its Windows 8 operating system to mark the 88th day after its launch, GMA network reported.

But Microsoft said Windows 8 will remain available under discount offers only until January 31, and offer upgrade editions at $119.99 (RM365.15) starting Feb. 1.

Microsoft noted over 100 million apps for Windows 8 have been downloaded from Windows Store since its launch and 60 million licenses have been sold.

Windows 8 is available in 140 markets and 37 languages worldwide, with 30,000 developers engaged in Asia Pacific.

Windows 8 upgrade offers

Microsoft said these Windows 8 discount offers are valid until January 31:
- Customers who bought a Windows 7, Vista or XP PC before June 1, 2012 can upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $14.99 (around RM45.60 only).

- Customers who bought a Windows 7 PC between June 2, 2012 to January 31, 2013 are entitled to upgrade for only $39.99 (around RM121.70) by visiting www.windowsupgradeoffer.com.

- Upgrade through the packaged DVD version which is available at major retail stores and malls for only $69.99 (around RM212.99).
