SEMPORNA: Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said all projects under his ministry were monitored closely to ensure they were properly implemented.
He said a special unit set up for the task prepared reports and action proposals on the projects to ensure the latter met the objectives of benefiting the people.
Shafie nevertheless said a number of projects had incurred delays because they involved access through villages and individually-owned lands.
“We have to deal with the issue of compensation and to get the cooperation of the state governments,” he said at the presentation of RM200 subsistence allowance to 30 fishermen here.
Meanwhile, Mohd Shafie called on the people to support the Barisan Nasional government and its leaders in the next general election.
He said the people should evaluate and compare between leaders who had been helping to develop the country and people and those who were good only at “telling stories”. — Bernama
