Six held, RM129,300 worth of heroin seized

KUANTAN: Pahang police detained six suspected drug traffickers and seized 1919.33gm of heroin worth RM129,300 in four raids here on Wednesday and Friday.

Pahang Narcotics CID chief Supt Yap Toon Khuan said the biggest haul of 1336.98gm of heroin worth about RM90,000 involved a 44-year-old unemployed man during a 6pm raid on Jan 23 at a house in Taman Sri Mahkota Aman here.

He said the suspect was believed to have obtained the supply from Kuala Lumpur for distribution in the state capital.

According to Yap, police had earlier detained a 36-year-old security guard during a 3.30pm raid at a house in Taman Dato Abd Rashid and seized 82gm of heroin worth RM4,800.

“The suspect has seven previous criminal records and also tested positive for morphine,” he said yesterday.

Yap said police nabbed three other men aged 22, 31 and 35 on the same day at a house near Indera Sempurna and seized 65gm of heroin worth RM4,500 and five grams of ganja worth RM500.

“On Friday, a jobless man aged 31 was detained with 435.35gm of heroin worth RM30,000 at the Teluk Cempedak parking area here at about 2.40pm. Initial investigations found that he has a previous criminal record involving drug trafficking,” he said. —Bernama
