SIBU: Sibu Football Association is inviting entries for the annual Sibu Open 7-a-side championship which will be held at Sibu Prison Football Field on Feb 16.
The association secretary Abdul Hajis disclosed 60 teams are expected to enter the one-day event.
“Last year, our Sibu Open attracted 44 teams and there is no reason we cannot get more than that number this year,” he said on the expected entries which may come from Sibu, Kapit, Tanjong Manis, Mukah, Sarikei, Bintangor and Julau.
The championship will be played on group basis with the second round on knock-out system and the winning teams will receive cash prizes, trophies and medals.
Entry fee is RM150 per team and the closing date is Feb 14. Entry forms are available at Starplex Café at Raminway and those interested can contact Zain Ali at 0198915934 for further information.
