KUCHING: Individuals from Bandar Kuching and Stampin constituencies who had applied for the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M 2.0) should check and verify their application status before going to collect the vouchers.

SUPP Youth chief Tan Kai said this was to ensure that their names were among the first batch of recipients for the aid.

He said the applicants could check their status through http://www.supp.org.my and keying in their MyKad number.

For recipients in Padungan and Pending, which are under Bandar Kuching parliamentary seat, the cash aid will be distributed on Feb 4 and 5 at MBKS Stadium in Jalan Utama, Pending.

For those in Batu Lintang, Kota Sentosa and Batu Kawah, which are under Stampin parliamentary seat, the distribution will be held on Feb 6, 7 and 8, also at MKBS Stadium.

“The party would like to urge the applicants to check and verify their application status, and if their names are not included under the first batch, they should not go because it will be a waste of their time,” Tan Kai told a press conference at SUPP headquarters here yesterday.

He explained that if their application had been approved and the status confirmed, there was no need for them to wait for an official letter.

He pointed out that those excluded from the first batch would receive their vouchers in the next batch. Tan Kai pointed out senior citizens and people with special needs would have access to a special counter, adding that party members would also be around to assist them.

According to Tan Kai, Padungan had 5,910 recipients, Pending (4,969), Batu Lintang (4, 405), Kota Sentosa (4, 650) and Batu Kawah (6, 542).

He added that SUPP had been assisting the public to register for the BR1M 2.0 with the hope that they would benefit from BN’s welfare policies.

At the conference was also SUPP youth secretary general Wilfred Yap.
