People mature enough to judge Anwar — Masing

MIRI: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Dr James Masing wants the people themselves to assess who Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim really is before deciding who to vote for the upcoming polls.

Hence, he said the opposition leader was free to say anything he wanted to say or do because the people already knew what he was capable or not capable of doing.

“One of the proofs is that he almost did nothing when he was deputy prime minister and also when he was finance minister,” Masing said.

Masing, who is also Land Development Minister, said that if what had been said by Anwar could be done, they should have been implemented when he was in power then.

“I thus urge the people to judge for themselves who he really is because I believe the people are becoming more aware of what has been done by the government compared to what has been claimed by Anwar.”

Masing said this when asked to comment on Anwar’s real capability after he has been seen actively campaigning in Sibuti and Baram constituencies lately.

On PRS preparation for the election, Masing said they were ready to go into battle once the prime minister had made the announcement.

The party is allocated six seats one of which might see a new face in the person of Wilson Ugak for Hulu Rajang. The others are Julau (Datuk Joseph Salang), Selangau (Datuk Joseph Entulu, Kanowit (Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang), Lubok Antu (William Nyalau) and Sri Aman (Masir Kujat).
