ICT expert Azli Paat dies of high fever

KUALA LUMPUR: An expert in information and communication technology (ICT), Azli Paat, died of high fever at about 7pm at his house in Bukit Segambut here yesterday.

His son, Ahmad Naim, 23, said his father was down with high fever since Wednesday and had sought treatment at a clinic.

Azli left a wife and 10 children, six sons and four daughters.

He will be buried in Batu Pahat, Johor, today.

Azli is the founder of the service DAPAT, the sms messaging shortcode business operator with its innovative uses of their services, especially in the government sector, and the mySMS 15888, the sms shortcode for the Malaysian government, which allows seamless messaging across all telecommunication companies.

He also founded the community based service, RakanCop.

He had appeared on Bernama Radio 24 at 7.30am daily as a panel speaker to share information on information technology since 2007.
