GOOD WISHES: Lee presents a Chinese New Year pack to a fishmonger.

MIRI: The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Senadin distributed Chinese New Year (CNY) goodies and mandarin oranges at Emart Commercial Centre yesterday.

Assistant Minister of Communication Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who is also SUPP Senadin chairman, handed out the items. “This is just our annual activity during every Chinese New Year. It is one of the ways for us to get close to the public and know them better,” he said.

Over 300 packets of CNY treats were distributed.

Lee also visited the houses of six poor Chinese families in the Tudan area to give them hampers as well as ang pows.

He will hold an open house on the second day of Chinese New Year from 10am to 2pm.

Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Puan Sri Raghad Kurdi Taib are scheduled to visit Lee.
