SIBU: A 19-year-old man was sentenced to 18 months’ jail by a Magistrate’s Court here yesterday after he pleaded guilty to stealing.
Chin Hock Ming was charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code which provides for a jail term of up to 10 years or a fine, upon conviction. He committed the offence at a budget hotel in Channel Road here about 3.30am on Nov 28, 2012.
He stole a TV set, and was arrested by police at 4.45am the same day.
