MIRI: Head of State Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Muhamad Salahuddin Abang Barieng and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Norkiah yesterday continued their Chinese New Year (CNY) visits here.
Starting their second day of CNY visits here at 9.30am, they first visited the residence of Assistant Minister of Communications Datuk Lee Kim Shin before proceeding to the house of Temenggong Dato Sri Lee Sie Tong, who is also chairman of Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, both at Tanjong Lobang here, where they were greeted with the traditional lion dances.
Salahuddin and Norkiah participated in the ‘Yee Sang’ or Prosperity Toss in every house they visited, which was to wish them long life, good health and prosperity.
At about 11am, Salahuddin, Norkiah and entourage visited Datuk Sebastian Ting, political secretary to the minister of energy, green technology and water before visiting businessman Datuk Hii Chang Pi at Jalan Tanjong.
At noon, former Temenggong Lim Song Yu and entrepreneur Datuk Lau Sie Wai played host to the visitors.
Accompanying the Head of State and his wife were Assistant Minister of Investment and Promotion Julaihi Narawi, Sibuti MP Ahmad Lai Bujang and senator Lihan Jok.
