PM starts Johor visit meeting state Umno, BN leaders

JOHOR BAHARU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak started his one-day visit to Johor yesterday with closed-door meetings involving state Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders at the Johor International Convention Centre here.

Also present were Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman, who is also the state BN chairman, Home Minister and Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Latif Ahmad and Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi.

Other notable Johor Umno leaders present included Johor Baharu MP and Johor Baharu Umno head Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad and Pulai Umno head and MP for Pulai, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.

Najib, who is also Umno president and BN chairman, also held a closed-door meeting with state BN leaders.

The BN leaders seen attending the meeting included MCA president and Johor MCA chairman Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

Besides these closed-door meetings, Najib and wife are scheduled to attend the state-level Chinese New Year Open House in Senai, Kulaijaya.

He is also scheduled to witness the balloting ceremony for housing units of Projek Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia’s (PR1MA) Nusantara PR1MA housing project at Dewan Raya Bandar Putra, also in Kulaijaya before returning to Putrajaya. — Bernama
