SERDANG: BP Food Testing Sdn Bhd (BPFT) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on food testing, students internship programme and consultancy services.
The MoU was signed by BPFT director Joevy Beh Yen Ling and UPM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Mohd Fauzi Ramlan.
Joevy Beh said the collaboration will remain for two years but can be extended for another one year in another written agreement from both parties.
“This smart partnership is a win-win situation because it will allow UPM students to obtain firsthand knowledge of the private sector’s strength and weakness, thus enabling them to be prepared for the job
market,” he told reporters at the signing ceremony here yesterday.
He added that it was crucial for private organisations such as BPFT to gain UPM’s support in order to improve the quality of service and delivery, to meet global testing standards.
“The collaboration not only provides students with places for industrial training but also extends it to fellow associate professors to have more cases through our customer base each year,” he said.
BPFT, a subsidiary of BP Healthcare Group, serves the community as a one stop solution laboratory for non-human testing for a safe and sustainable future. — Bernama
