SANDAKAN: Two men died while another man was seriously injured when their Perodua Viva car skidded at Labuk Road, off Mile 14 here, yesterday morning.
Police chief Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Rowell Marong said the deceased were identified as Mohd Faizal Liluya, 22, and Mohd Hanizam Abdul Hamid,19.
The driver, who sustained
serious injuries, was Mohd Hadizan, 24, who is Mohd Hanizam’s brother, he said.
During the incident at around 3am, all of them were on their way home to Kampung Gum-Gum, Mile 16 from Sandakan Town.
Upon arrival at Mile 14, the driver lost control of the car and skidded on the roadside and fell into a ditch.
The injured victim is still receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Duchess of Kent Hospital.
Rowell said the accident will be investigated under section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
