TOO LATE TO BE SALVAGED: The torched car.
SIBU: A 4-wheel-drive vehicle was torched before midnight on Tuesday at Keranji Road here.
Its middle-aged owner believed his car caught fire between 11.30pm and 12am when he was drinking with friends in a pub nearby.
He suspected arson was involved.
A friend spotted the fire and alerted him. They tried to douse the fire but it was in vain as the fire had engulfed the vehicle bought one year ago.
Firemen from the Fire and Rescue Department were despatched to the scene to put out the fire.
