MIRI: Vision 2020 will be derailed if BN falls in the impending general election as the ambiguous political agenda of Pakatan Rakyat would not be able to realise the national aspirations.

Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Datuk Seri Peter Chin said as such the electorate should not be hoodwinked by Pakatan’s propaganda machinery. They should instead remain steadfast in rallying behind BN.

Speaking at Miri Yong Clan Association’s Chinese New Year (CNY) dinner at Boulevard Restaurant on Friday, Chin told those present that the opposition were fond of spewing baseless allegations just for political mileage. For instance, they alleged that the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) would bankrupt the country, he said.

“This claim is truly baseless. This is because the economy transformation programmes formulated by Prime Minister Datuk Sri Najib Tun Razak has enabled the country to enjoy steady growth of 5.4 per cent,” Chin explained.

“In the midst of the current economic turmoil in Europe, only a few countries in South East Asia recorded steady economic growth, and Malaysia is one of them.”

Chin, who is also Miri MP, said the people should also be wary of Pakatan’s call for change as Sarawak, under the administration of the BN, had been changing drastically over the years.

“I would agree if the call for change can make the country better than now. This is because we cannot afford the cost of change which will cause chaos to the country.”

Hence, he urged the people to think rationally and never let their emotions run wild when deciding who to vote for in the impending polls.

“Remember that all the developments that we are enjoying did not come easily. They required lots of commitments and sacrifices. Don’t believe the opposition for they are good only in criticising and paying lip service to fish for votes.”
