Man sustains injuries on foot after ramming into tree

KUCHING: A man sustained injuries on his foot after his car rammed into a palm tree in the middle of Jalan Penrissen at 8th Mile last Sunday.

The accident happened around 11.30pm when the driver was heading towards Kuching.

The middle aged man had suddenly lost control of his Perodua Kenari car and rammed into the tree.

After the accident, he was stuck inside the car.

Members of public called the Civil Defence Department and the Fire and Rescue Department to the scene.

The rescue team took around 10 minutes to get the victim out of the damaged vehicle.

He was then sent to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.

In an unrelated incident, a man and his wife suffered minor injuries after their Perodua Kancil car crashed into a tree in Jalan Song near Tabuan Heights on Sunday.

The accident happened at about 11pm.

It was said that the driver had tried to avoid a car which had suddenly cut into his lane when he rammed into the tree.

His family members seated at the back were reported to be safe.
