SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) expect 80,000 visitors for the ‘Pesta Chap Goh Mei Sayangi Selangor’ festival to be held at the i-City here, on Saturday.
Organising chairman Datuk Ching Eu Boon said the festival to be held from 7.30pm to 10.30pm, would feature various events like Lion dance, Dragon dance, an acrobatics performance from China and fireworks.
“The Chap Goh Mei festival is organised to showcase peace and harmony enjoyed by the country and to promote unity among families.
“People of all levels are
invited for the festival that will be opened by Selangor MCA chairman Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai,” he told reporters here yesterday.
Ching who is the Selangor MCA Deputy Youth chief said 1,888 oranges as a symbol of unity and harmony among all races.
He added that Selangor BN with the cooperation of I-Berhad would also give away 1,000 tickets to the Waterworld@i-City park worth RM50 each for free through the www.i-city.my website from 7pm to 11pm on the same day. — Bernama
