Lorry attendants get eight years for robbery

PETALING JAYA: Four lorry cleaners, including two brothers, were sentenced to eight years in prison after they were found guilty by the Sessions Court here yesterday for armed gang robbery of a businessman.

Judge Suraiya Mustafa Kamal sentenced M Ramaesh, 23, Muhammad Ridzuan Shanmugam 24, S Premkumar, 23, and his brother S Muniandy, 21, after the prosecution proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt.

The four, armed with machetes, robbed Hue Chong Fong, 32, of a back pack containing some gold, two branded watches and some cash, at 3 am on Aug 20, 2012 at Jalan Subang, Sungai Buloh here.

Deputy public prosecutor Ching Kian Chun prosecuted while all the accused were unrepresented. — Bernama
