KOTA KINABALU: A 55-year-old man has appealed to his wife to come home with their two-year-old daughter who had been “missing” since February 17.

Omar Asma disclosed that his Indonesian wife, Admira, 38, left home with their daughter Mariani Omar in the morning of February 17.

He initially thought that they were only going out for a walk, but when they failed to return home later that day, he became suspicious.

“As my suspicion grew, I went to check her wardrobe and found it was emptied. All of her important documents, including travel documents, passport, marriage certificate and our daughter’s birth certificate were also gone.

“I lodged a missing person report soon after at the Karamunsing police station as I’m worried that she might run away with my daughter to Indonesia,” he said.

Omar, who resides in Kampung Air here, said he had searched everywhere, including the airports and other locations that his wife and daughter might have gone to, but to no avail.

He urged his wife to return with their daughter and to talk to him should there be any misunderstanding between them instead of running away.

“Running away is not the solution to any problems. Misunderstanding between husband and wife is inevitable but running away is not the answer, but it should be sorted out through communication instead,” he said.

He asked the public to contact him or the police should they see Admira or Mariani.

Omar’s contact is 016 828 6104 or 016 582 0098.
