KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak’s nominated candidate for Hulu Rajang Wilson Ugak Kumbong has set up an operation centre in Belaga.

With the operations centre here, Ugak said he was now ready to face the upcoming general election.

He has also set up similar operations centre in Kapit soon after getting the nod from his party’s top leadership.

Besides the service centre in Belaga, Ugak said he would also find time to visit his supporters in the nearby villages.

Accompanying him during the visit was a political secretary to the chief minister Wilson Nyabong Ijang who is tasked to make the final assessment on the readiness of all the operation rooms in Hulu Rajang.

During a function organised by Special Affairs Department (JASA) over the weekend, Ugak was warmly received by the people of Sungai Gaat.

All the 15 headmen (tuai rumah) in the area came to the function to pledge their full support for him to replace the incumbent MP Datuk Billy Abit Joo.

They also thanked PRS president Tan Sri Dr James Masing for giving Ugak, one of the sons of Sg Gaat, a chance to be the candidate.

Ugak thanked those present for their support and promised to work hard to help everyone in Hulu Rajang regardless of their origin with better amenities and infrastructure. He also advised the voters to vote for the BN in the coming general election.

He also advised the people to give Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak a resounding victory so that he (Najib) would continue his transformation programmes.

Meanwhile Nyabong threw a challenge to the people of Sungai Gaat to fully support their own son (Ugak) who will represent BN in the coming general election and to totally reject the oppositions.

He said that the oppositions only knew how to spread lies and make complaints without coming up with solutions like what the BN government was doing now.
