LAHAD DATU: Adawiyah Tuljannah can finally take a deep breath.

Her week-old baby, Wan Mauliana Amani Aziati, has finally been vaccinated.

She is the youngest evacuee at Dewan Embara Budi, sharing spaces with 670 others, and was quickly nicknamed ‘Amoi’ by the adults there.

Yesterday, medical officers from a nearby clinic came to vaccinate the little one, the latest addition to Adawiyah and husband, Basri Kabir. Also with the couple at the evacuation centre were the couple’s children Wan Shafiah Nafishah Balqis, three, and Ikwan Mohd Ramdan, six.

Adawiyah gave birth to the healthy baby girl at 6.26pm, just two hours after she was forced to board a lorry to the hall after Sulu gunmen were sighted at Kampung Tanjung Labian.

“I am glad that she is finally vaccinated, although a week late … but I guess, better late than never,” he said.
