SUNGAI PETANI: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has requested political parties not to put up their party flags on its electric poles.

As the 13th general election approaches, party helpers have been putting up flags all over including eletric poles.

TNB (communications and corporate relations) vice-president Adelina Iskandar said her survey in several states found flags of various parties have started to spring up at the highest possible spots.

“We also found TNB electric poles were among the focus of such activities. We would like to caution political parties that hanging flags on TNB poles is dangerous.

“TNB is currently carrying out an awareness campaign    especially among plantation workers in Felda areas to prevent injuries or death from electric shock,” she told a media conference after opening the Kedah state level TNB People Friendly Project in Taman Setia, Bakar Arang here yesterday.

Also present was the Kedah TNB general manager, Suid Othman.

Meanwhile Adelina said Kedah was the fourth location to receive houses under  TNB People-Friendly Project after Negeri Sembilan, Pahang and Kuala Lumpur. — Bernama
