KUCHING: The Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (Matta) Sarawak Chapter will be organising the 4th Sarawak Matta Travel Fair 2013 at Boulevard Shopping Mall Phase II Main Promotion Hall from May 3 to 5.
“After its long absence since 2006, this year will be the revival of the Sarawak Matta Travel Fair which is held in line with our effort to promote both inbound and outbound tourism in Kuching,” said its organising chairman Samuel Chung at a press conference here yesterday.
According to him, the travel fair also aimed to promote tourism in the state and Malaysia as well as to showcase Sarawak as the preferred inbound travel paradise destination. “Visitors can expect to purchase special airfares from airlines in addition to the variety of tour and travel promotional packages from participating travel agents,” revealed Chung.
Matta Sarawak Chapter chairman Dayang Azizah, who was also present said the fair was also expected to see the participation of travel agencies from Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu and Kelantan.
“We are also hoping to get travel agents from Balikpapan and Brunei to come on board to promote their tour packages and contribute to the state’s inbound sector,” she said.
Other than tour and travel packages on offer, there will also be lucky draws comprising attractive prizes sponsored by the various participating organisations at the travel fair. The entrance fee to the 4th Sarawak Matta Travel Fair 2013 is priced at RM2 per adult and RM1 for children whereas free admission will be given to those aged three and below.
