SEMPORNA: Semporna residents have been reminded not to protect unidentified individuals or illegal immigrants even though they maybe relatives.
Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nasir Tun Sakaran said the people should cooperate fully with the security forces in their effort to track down the remaining terrorists in the district.
Nasir, who is also the state assemblyman for Senallang, said residents are required to report immediately to the authorities the presence of unidentified individuals in their areas.
“On matters of security, the government will not compromise with anybody to ensure the security, prosperity and peace of the people and country,” he said when attending a gathering with residents of Kampung Bubul Laut, Kampung Bulingisan and Kampung Keramat yesterday.
Nasir said all this while life in Semporna had been peaceful, prosperous and safe which enabled the government to develop and implement various programmes in the town and rural areas irrespective of their ethnic group, religion or political ideology. — Bernama
