LAHAD DATU: Umno Youth will hold a motivation programme to uplift the spirit of the villagers who are traumatised by the intrusion.
Umno Youth exco Jamawi Jaafar said they realised that there were villagers who were traumatised, especially those who had been taken as hostages by the terrorists.
“This incident will have a long term impact on the villagers, and we will assist them through the motivation programme to uplift their spirit.
“Umno Youth leader Khairy Jamaluddin and I will come back to see what other assistance we can provide to the villagers,” he said after presenting contribution to villagers in evacuation centres from Pertubuhan Islam Seluruh Sabah (USIA) at Fajar Harapan, here, yesterday.
Among the contribution given to the villagers were basic necessities such as clothes, food, and water.
He said they would consider other assistance such as motivation programmes to assist the traders affected by the incident.
Meanwhile, Jamawi said the sacrifices of the security forces in protecting and defending our country are much appreciated.
“Their contribution should be appreciated by the people who are enjoying peace and harmony as a result of their contribution,” he added.
