KUCHING: Sarawak face Kuala Lumpur away today in the President’s Cup hoping to maintain their 3-game unbeaten streak.

After an impressive scoreless draw against highly-rated Selangor last Thursday, Sarawak is looking to test their mantle again.

Team chief coach Anai Igang @ Mohd Farhan Abdullah is also hoping that his team can maintain their clean sheet.

“While I am aware that winning is not all that matters, I too hope to extend our clean sheet to four matches. It is good for the team’s confidence,” he said.

Mohd Farhan, however, is mindful that the team does not carried away the recent success . The team must improve, not just maintain the way they have played in the last three matches.

“Kuala Lumpur is no different from Selangor. We must consider all teams in the President’s Cup as of the same quality,” added Mohd Farhan.

Key player Richard Sawing is the only doubt for today’s clash while Mohd Farhan aims to keep the same team that played against Selangor last week.

Striker Eugene Thompson Thomas is also showing more signs of improved fitness. His presence is vital as the team could again have to depend on his attacking services.

“As he was on the bench at the start of the season, it is nice to see him fit and playing regularly again,” Mohd Farhan said.

The Sarawak versus Kuala Lumpur match starts at 4.45pm today at the Maybank Sports Complex, Bangi.
