SUBANG JAYA: The Taylor’s World Class Scholarship (TWCS) is back with new partners from a wider range of industries.

The 2013 edition of the scholarship, launched by Taylor’s University vice chancellor and vice president, Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan Said, is now open to all school-leavers for an opportunity to pursue their academic goals.

The TWCS 2013 official launch was witnessed by representatives from returning industry partners namely, BDO, BMW, Dell, HSBC, Leo Burnett, Nestlé, Shangri-La and Veritas Design Group. This year, TWCS welcomed three new partners: Top Glove, CIMB Group and Scomi.

Held for the eighth consecutive year, TWCS is a scholarship programme that awards outstanding students with exemplary academic and extracurricular achievements.

Distinguishing itself from other scholarships and bursaries, TWCS offers a full scholarship for a degree of choice at Taylor’s University as well as an internship opportunity in a leading multinational company (MNC).

The partners, ranging from the automotive, hospitality, communications, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and engineering sectors, provide an extensive range of choice for TWCS scholars.

The prestigious scholarship will be receiving submissions until April 12, 2013.

Applicants are required to share a story of 400 words that best describes the saying ‘When life throws you lemons, make lemonade’ in the online application form available on the Taylor’s University website at www.taylors.edu.my/twcs.

Since its inception in 2006, TWCS has awarded a total of RM7.6 million worth of scholarships to over 100 deserving students.

Other awards under the Taylor’s Education Group include the Tan Sri Loy Scholarship, Tertiary Merit Scholarship, National Scholarship and the High Achievers Scholarship.
