KUCHING: Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) is organising the inter-division ladies football tournament on May 6 – 12 to select state players.

“It will be organised in Miri this year…we need to start now in order to find the best (women) players to represent the state,” FAS’ ladies football committee chairman Nelson Kloni told The Borneo Post yesterday.

The tournament is expected to be participated by all the divisions including the Armed Forces (ATM) and PDRM.

All teams competing must register not more than 18 players and are required to have more than one goalkeeper and three under 17 players.

“Before competing, all teams must also be headed by a manager, a coach with a sanctioned “C” football coaching license and a physiotherapist registered with the team,” added Nelson.

The tournament will be organised on a carnival basis with other recreational and communal activities will also be held on the same day.

“We would also like to see this tournament be an event where everybody can join in the fun and it would be interesting,” he enthused.

Nelson also added that competing teams can obtain their entry forms at Sarawak State Sports Council office in Miri which is located at the Miri Stadium or download it from the website www.pbbm09.net

For further enquiries, the tournament committee can also be contacted through Harifen Mansur (013-8823414) or Mohamad Saif Jubaidi (013-8017187).

All teams must submit their entry forms before 12pm on April 28.
